Celebrating by Giving Thanks

As we reflect on this season of celebration and thanks, one truth is clear: our community shows up for one another in remarkable ways. In a time marked by rising costs, limited housing options, and increasing pressure on families trying to build steady lives, your generosity – not only in terms of financial donations, but also in terms of spirit – has helped create meaningful paths forward for so many.
As architects, we know that a home is far more than four walls. It is a foundation for stability, opportunity, and an enriching life. Since we first opened our doors in 1987, our work has centered on creating those home bases for our clients – places where they can live with comfort, confidence, and joy.
It has also become our mission over these past nearly-four decades to ensure that the transformative power of “home” reaches those who need it most. In 2020, that commitment inspired us to create the Morgante Wilson Foundation (MWF) and guided our choice of Community Partners for Affordable Housing (CPAH) as the sole beneficiary of our philanthropic efforts.
Because of the generosity of so many of you, the Morgante Wilson Foundation has been able to fuel substantial progress. Your support has helped CPAH develop 15 affordable homes in the Village of Wilmette. And thanks to last year’s extraordinary effort, when we collectively raised nearly $100,000 – along with new Village-approved developments that include affordable housing contributions – we are on our way to creating 20 more permanently affordable homes that will offer stability, dignity, and long-term opportunity to families within our community.
These milestones reflect more than numbers. They represent teachers, service workers, young families, and longtime residents who want to live in the place they work, and remain in the place they love. They represent neighbors whose lives are strengthened by the safety and possibility that a secure home provides.
At times like these – when the world feels uncertain and rapid change is the norm – our community connections matter more than ever. Every act of support, whether financial contributions, volunteer efforts, professional expertise, or simply spreading awareness, helps weave a stronger, more compassionate fabric throughout our neighborhoods.
